It is one of the realities of life that after forty years we are not all in the same place financially.  Some have been blessed abundantly while others for one reason or another find themselves in tough financial shape at this point in time.  The committee has endeavored to plan a very nice evening at a superior location with a wonderful buffet.  We have tried to strike a good quality/cost balance to create and enjoyable and affordable event. 

Unfortunately, for some the cost of attending our reunion may present a real hardship. Your Reunion Committee understands this. In trying to address the situation we have come up with a solution that hopefully everyone can feel good about.

We are asking those of you who are financially able and feel compelled, to make a donation to a special fund to offset the cost of classmates who need assistance in paying for part or all of their ticket.  For Classmates that want to attend and are truly in need of help, you'll just need to ask.

As most or all of you know our own Drue Boles is a Church Pastor.  As such we felt he is the person best to oversee this effort.  Drue truly possesses all the qualities you could ever hope for in a pastor, friend and classmate.  Empathy, understanding, discernment and fairness are just a few.  You should feel comfortable reaching out to Drue and be assured whether you give or receive, it will be held in the strictest confidence.  Drue will be the only point of contact and the only one who will know. 

Understand at this point we have no way of knowing how much if any funds will be available.  If we have good ticket sales early and see that we will have a surplus after all cost are paid, some money may be available from the general fund. 

After the event and all monies are settled including this fund, the committee will decide on how the remainder will be dispersed in the form of cash, a gift or donation of some kind to West Covina High School.
